The paradox (and secret) of building a successful life is that the more lightly we take ourselves and our path, the more sustained and expansive our growth will be. If we only push ourselves to work hard, to be more and to do more, our spirit begins to feel stifled…and the more vulnerable we will be to overwhelm and burn-out.

The best antidote, then, to either is to schedule time to play. To laugh. To take our serious, but spirited selves and do something fun. Renewed and refreshed, we rekindle our enthusiasm for life as well as for our lives.

Soon we’ll begin to notice how success flows more effortlessly as result.
